Week 11

At LIFE 1010 we have a world class powerlifter, a competitive soccer player, a mom who tries to fit in some figure competitions (she’s earned her pro card between having kids) and a mom who just eats healthy and exercises to stay healthy and enjoy life.  Whether you have competitive aspirations or just want to be healthy to enjoy life more fully, the principles are the same.  

Today we want to talk about the basics of nutrition- what works and what doesn't.  In the coming weeks we’ll hit on supplements and some of the more popular diets out there, but first let’s lay a nutritional foundation for healthy living.  All the money in the world can’t make up for poor health.

As always, you should consult your physician before making any diet or exercise changes.  We at LIFE 1010 are not healthcare professionals, we’re simply sharing life experience and some of the things that have worked for us.  Young children and seniors, in particular, have a high likelihood of special nutritional needs and no child should be belittled or deprived of plenty of health food.  

Homework

O - Print off and read Basic Nutrition 1010.  Put this in your binder to review as needed.
O - Implement one change from the information contained in Basic Nutrition 101.  Remember, you only need to make little adjustments to get great results over time.  Some ideas include: 
- Drink a gallon of water each day
- Eat a balanced breakfast each day
- Limit soda intake to 1 can each week (or even each day if you’re drinking a ton of it!)
- Eat one more serving of fruits or vegetables each day
