Week 48
As we look at the costs of dying and discuss planning for this life, or death, event, we thought it might be a good idea to make a list of what costs we have to consider. Here’s that list. It’s a good start, though not all-inclusive.
1. Physician and Hospital bills (yep, they charge you even if they do a crummy job)
2. Outstanding debts (not really a cost of dying, but definitely a final expense) 3. Taxes (like they say… death and taxes…) 4. Legal fees and/ or costs of probate 5. Headstone (that big thing they put on top of your casket after the dirt, so you can’t escape. Ok, not funny for those of us who are claustrophobic) 6. Casket 7. A pretty view, otherwise known as a Cemetery plot 8. Funeral service 9. Flowers (hopefully you’ll die in the spring when they’re in season. It’s cheaper) 10. Transportation for your loved ones. They’re going to throw a big party and everyone wants to be there. |
We know death isn’t a laughing matter, but none of us have figured out how to dodge it, so for extra credit you'll find some funnies. Hey, laugh a little at the thought of getting old!
