We all know that we make empty promises to ourselves every year. These promises we refer to as “Resolutions”. We may keep them for a few weeks or maybe even a few months but eventually they fade. Here are a few “Resolutions” that we can make that are easy changes that will last.
1- Find some sort of exercise that makes you HAPPY.
We all know that it is difficult to love some forms of exercise, yet we all know that we need it to keep us healthy. There are so many things out there for us to do. Try a few out that you think you would love and narrow it down to the one you do love. For some it’s lifting weights, for others its Zumba, and some just love to be out hiking. What’s your favorite?
2- Better Sleep Habits
We all say that we are tired we need more sleep. Find ways to incorporate a healthy sleep habit to get those extra zzzz’s. Try shutting off the electronics an hour before bed. Meditation can help you relax after those stressful days. Find ways to shut out the night noise. Anything you try, make sure you are getting the full night’s rest. It will improve those days.
3- Don’t sweat the small stuff.
We all know that it is a waste of time to stress over the things that we can’t control. Yet we all seem to do it. Find other ways to occupy your time. Reading, working out, or taking a break to see some close friends and have a good laugh. Find ways to take your mind off the stress.
4- Cook at home more
Eating out is a huge budget buster that can add that unwanted stress, and weight. Take time to make a menu and cook at home. When your friends want to eat out have them come over for a home cooked meal. The food is better and the budget won’t get out of control.
5- Find your healthy Mantra
Everyone needs that saying that keeps him or her going. Find one that you can repeat when you get down on yourself for eating that doughnut, or skipping a workout. Keep your head up. If you believe in yourself nothing is going to stop you.
